Vignerons Catalans, one of France's leading wine cooperatives, is now selling its Villa Soleil wine in Smurfit Kappa Group’s 1.5-liter flexible Pouch Up packaging to meet the growing needs of on-the-go consumption, PackagingEurope reported May 28.
The rosé wine, which consists of fresh and fruity aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and redcurrant, was previously marketed in a bottle and bag-in-box format. The Pouch-Up format creates a packaging that is flexible, lighter, unbreakable and easy to use, which allows the wine to be easily consumed on-the-go, according to PackagingEurope.
Smurfit Kappa’s Vitop Original tap, located outside of the pouch, makes it easy to pour the wine. The Vitop compact tap and the innovative film structure creates a high oxygen barrier, which keeps the wine fresh longer, says PackagingEurope.
