Nearly one-third of Panera Bread's franchisees express concerns about planned upgrades to kiosk and mobile ordering, survey says

LOS ANGELES , May 27, 2014 () – According to a recent survey by Piper Jaffray Co., nearly one-third of Panera Bread Co.’s franchisees have expressed concerns about planned upgrades to kiosk and mobile ordering, Nation's Restaurant News reported May 23.

Piper Jaffray polled about 60% of franchised locations and found that while 40% of survey respondents were generally on board with the plan, 30% were concerned about the potential impact on margins and the required capital expenditures. The remaining 30% of operators were unaware of the plan's details.
