BURTON, Michigan , May 21, 2014 (press release) – Landaal Packaging Systems announces the creation of a business model for Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Companies that decreases the burden for on-site labor and at the same time enhancing the consumer experience.

Landaal Packaging Systems recognized the need to bridge the gap between the retailer and the manufacturers. They invested time, money and resources to obtain the rights to the automated display technology of POPTECH. By creating merchandisers in which the manufacturer can easily load and ship, there is no need for separate packaging operations for the displays.

At the retailer's site there is no objection because the automated assembly displays generally are constructed in less than 22 seconds.

The stricter display guidelines were beneficial to the retailers yet there was a fundamental issue that needed to be addressed. The CPG companies were not specialists at assembling these displays. They now had to develop separate packaging lines for display pack out and account for resources that had never been required in the past. In some cases, the CPG companies have outsourced fulfillment to other companies to handle this cumbersome task of meeting the retailers' new requirements. The result, higher piece prices to account for the labor, burden and overhead are required to recoup for monies spent on POP assembly areas.

"We have created a business model in which we reduce the pain points for both the CPG companies and the retailers," says Terry Choate the Marketing/Business Development Manager for Landaal Packaging Systems. "The response rate from both types of organizations has been exceptional."

Laurie Shaw, Marketing Manager for Coffee Beanery adds, "We are always on the lookout for affordable and easy to put together merchandisers to showcase our coffee products. This unit definitely fit the bill and will result in increased sales with very little investment and taking up very little floor space and best of all-easy to put together."

As the brick and mortar retailers continue to compete with online super stores, the need to streamline cost will be important. One sure way to accomplish this is to utilize an automatic assembly display. The potential to reduce labor, overhead and freight within the supply chain is significant.
