LOS ANGELES , May 21, 2014 () – UCS Forest Group has purchased the Atlas Lumber Company of Chino, California, Woodworking Network reported on May 19.

UCS Forest Group, which serves customers in the architectural woodworking, commercial and residential furniture, and cabinet-making industries, trades as Sierra Forest Products in the U.S., Upper Canada Forest Products in Canada, UCS Global internationally and A&M Wood Specialty.

Warren Spitz, President and CEO of the UCS Forest Group of Comanies, said Atlas Lumber Company would operate as division of Sierra Forest Products. The business, founded by the Porter family in 1944 and currently celebrating its 70th anniversary, will continue to be managed by Randy Porter, said Spitz.
