Herbalife names Carolin Eva Sophie Klussmann to its nutrition advisory board, bringing number of board participants to 27

LOS ANGELES , May 20, 2014 (press release) – Herbalife (NYSE: HLF), a leading global nutrition company, announced today that Carolin Eva Sophie Klussmann, Ph.D., is joining its Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB), bringing the number of NAB participants to 27.

For the past decade, Dr. Klussmann has served across a range of international medical assignments, including working in hospital emergency and general surgery rooms in Cape Town, South Africa, and leading HIV research and treatment in Rondebosch, South Africa. She has also practiced general medicine, anesthesiology and dermatology in Munich, Germany. While practicing at the Technical University of Munich, department of dermatology, Dr. Klussmann led a team of physicians and nurses in the field of clinical dermatology, allergies, infectious diseases, operative dermatology, children's skin treatment and cosmetic dermatology.

The Nutrition Advisory Board is comprised of leading experts from around the world in the fields of nutrition and health who inform, educate and train Herbalife members and customers on the principles of good nutrition, physical activity and leading a healthy lifestyle. The NAB is chaired by David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.S.N. chairman, Herbalife Nutrition Institute and Founding Director, Center for Human Nutrition, UCLA*.

Dr. Klussmann earned her doctorate in human medicine at the Ludwigs-Maximilian's University Munich, school of medicine. She received her medical degree at the department of medicine at the Technical University of Munich.
