LOS ANGELES , May 13, 2014 () – Egypt and Peru placed a ban on some or all beef imports from Brazil after it was confirmed that a cow was infected with atypical bovine spongiform encephalopathy, The Wall Street Journal reported May 12.

Peru banned all beef imports from Brazil for 180 days, while Egypt banned imports from the state of Mato Grosso for the same period
