Scene bottle by Fusion Packaging named 2014 Cosmetic Package of the Year by IoPP at AmeriStar competition; bottle combines PP and PCTG resins, features shatterproof, clear shade base for color indication

DALLAS , May 9, 2014 (press release) – Fusion Packaging’s Scene bottle was recently awarded the 2014 Cosmetic Package of the Year by the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) AmeriStar competition. Considered North America’s most prestigious packaging awards competition, the AmeriStar Awards annually recognizes packaging that demonstrates the best in innovation, product protection, economics, performance, marketing, and sustainability.

Scene – a patent-pending bottle featuring a shatterproof, crystal-clear shade base for true color indication – was selected as the winning package for the cosmetics category. The innovative bottle combines two resins, polypropylene and PCTG, in a lightweight, single-walled package that is highly customizable. The package was also announced as a finalist for the IoPP’s Best of Show, Sustainability and Design Excellence Awards.

The Scene package will be displayed at the 2014 UBM Canon Trade Shows, commencing at EastPack from June 10-14, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The AmeriStar and Visionary Awards Ceremony honoring this year’s winning packages from all categories will also take place during this event.

Winning the AmeriStar award qualifies Scene for the WorldStar competition, the pre-eminent international packaging award sponsored by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). Fusion Packaging previously won the AmeriStar and WorldStar awards for the twist-to-open Stu package in 2011.
