LOS ANGELES , May 9, 2014 () – According to the U.S. Apple Association, about 35 million bushels of U.S. fresh-market apples had yet to be shipped as of May 1, down 6% from the year-ago period, The Packer reported May 9.

The May total is, however, 6% higher than the five-year average, the association said.
