GP employees from company's consumer products operations in Crossett, Arkansas, and Muskogee, Oklahoma, load six tractor-trailer loads of bath tissue and paper towels for tornado-damaged communities in Arkansas and Mississippi

May 7, 2014 (press release) – What our neighbors in Arkansas and Mississippi are going through due to last week’s devastating outbreak of tornadoes is truly unimaginable. Georgia-Pacific has deep roots throughout that area of the country, and we wanted to help ease a bit of their suffering.

Employees from our consumer products operations in Crossett, Arkansas, and Muskogee, Oklahoma, loaded six tractor-trailer loads of bath tissue and paper towels destined for relief agencies working onsite in damaged communities in Arkansas and Mississippi.

Loads of Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® towels made in Crossett, and Preference® commercial towels made in Muskogee have moved into storm areas and are helping people there meet some of their basic needs.

The donated products are being delivered through Convoy of Hope, a Springfield, Missouri-based international humanitarian relief agency. Convoy of Hope and Feed the Children, a relief agency based in Oklahoma City, regularly receive contributions of our products so they can respond quickly in disaster situations and get items to people who need them most.
