– Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP)(NYSE:LPX) announced today that it has named Jamey Barnes as vice president, Oriented Strand Board (OSB) operations. The LP Board of Directors approved the new job effective immediately.
Barnes, 63, joined LP in 2006 as Eastern Region OSB manager and has served a variety of roles with the company, most recently as director of OSB operations since 2008.
“This promotion is well-deserved,” LP OSB Executive Vice President Jeff Wagner said. “Jamey’s extensive background in managing wood products manufacturing and his impressive leadership abilities have helped LP continue to be the world’s leading OSB producer even when times are tough.”
Barnes has more than 37 years’ experience in the wood products business. Prior to joining LP, he held management positions at International Paper and Georgia-Pacific. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Arkansas.
Barnes will oversee operations at LP’s 11 OSB facilities operating in North America. LP manufactures commodity and value-added OSB products including OSB sheathing, LP FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB, LP TopNotch® Sub-Flooring products, LP TechShield® Radiant Barrier, and LP SuperStruct® OSB Furniture Panels.
