Wholesale building products distributor Cedar Creek inc. has signed a letter of intent to acquire Roberts & Dybdahl Inc., a family-owned wholesale distributor of lumber products based in Des Moines, Iowa.
According to a report by ProSales Magazine, the owners of Roberts & Dybdahl have decided to exit business and sell the company, which has a product range including post frame buildings, engineered wood products, and roof and floor truss systems.
Cedar Creek says the acquisition will allow the company to expand its footprint in the Midwest locations currently served by Roberts & Dybdahl. According to Roberts & Dybdahl's Website, the company has eight distribution centers in the region.
Roberts & Dybdahl's president Ted Roberts said his family had decided that the time was right to leave the business due to ongoing industry change.
The two companies said they planned to continue to work together to ensure a smooth transition of the Roberts & Dybdahl business to Cedar Creek once the transaction closes. They expect to complete the transaction by June 30th.
