– United States Patent no. 8,710,316, issued on April 29, was assigned to Monsanto Technology LLC (St. Louis).
"Plants and seeds of hybrid corn variety CH817100" was invented by Gary R. Stangland (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and Peter J. Lynch (Zionsville, Ind.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH817100. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH817100, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH817100 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH817100."
The patent was filed on April 16, 2011, under Application No. 13/088,335.
