Based on data from China Customs, in first two months of 2014, Chinese export of pulp, recovered paper and paper and board trended up obviously. Although unit price of export dropped nearly 30%, export value jumped 60% year on year.
In first two months of 2014, export of recovered paper and paperboard in China hit 35049.11 mts, jumping 156.93% year on year. Export of alkaline was 5749.75 mts in first two months of 2014, surging 111.19% year on year. Export of other fiber pulp claimed a large portion in export to 12,300 mts, up 18.44% year on year. Export of recovered paper was 92.51 mts, dipping 79.65% year on year. Export of mechanical pulp was 9.4 mts. In 2013 there was no export of this grade. There was no export of chemical pulp and sulfite pulp in first two months of 2014.
In Jan- Feb 2014, total export value of pulp, recovered paper and paperboard hit US$ 31.0254 million, jumping 60.25% year on year. Export value of alkaline was US$ 3.4242 million, jumping 67.16% year on year. Export of mechanical pulp was US$ 3800 while it was zero in 2013. Export value of other fiber pulp was US$ 16.7439 million, dipping 2.31% year on year. Export value of recovered paper was US$ 23100, slumping 86.85% year on year.
In first two months of 2014, unit export price of recovered paper and paperboard dipped to US$ 885.2/tonne, slipping 37.63% year on year. Unit export price of recovered paper was US$ 249.7/tonne, tumbling 35.36% year on year. Unit export price of alkaline and pulp were US$595.54/tonne, dipping 20.85% year on year. Unit export price of other type of fiber pulp was US$ 1357.56/tonne, dipping 17.28% year on year.
In Jan- Feb 2014, export of newsprint was 16863.6 tonne, jumping 1834.83% year on year. Export value of newsprint was US$ 1083.04, jumping 864.67% year on year. Unit export price of newsprint was US$ 642.24/tonne, slumping 50.14% year on year.
