ORLANDO, Florida , April 25, 2014 (press release) – Durst, the leading manufacturer of wide-format production digital printing platforms, comes to this week’s Sign Expo ’14 with a new, “extremely high” image quality, three-meter UV inkjet digital roll printer, as well as a high-speed UV inkjet digital flatbed printer with double the output capability of its predecessor.

The Rho 312R UV Inkjet Digital Roll Printer, a high-performing imaging platform that’s ideal for backlit, fine art and similar “precision” applications, and the Rho P10 250HS UV Inkjet Digital Flatbed Printer, the most productive 10-picoliter industrial printer available, are on the show floor and fully operational in Durst Booth #1859. Sign Expo ’14, sponsored by the International Sign Association, takes place April 24-26 at the Orange County Convention Center (South Hall).

To present these new products, and for an overview of the company’s path forward, Durst will conduct a press conference – with question-and-answer session – at 2 p.m. (edt) today in Room S230-G of the convention center.

“With the Rho 312R, the printing industry has a versatile, productive printing platform for meeting some of the most demanding, precision project requirements – fine art prints, exhibition graphics, wallpaper, and backlit output that takes the place of Lambda prints,” said Christopher Howard, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Durst U.S. “And the Rho P10 250HS delivers all the capabilities of the current Rho P10 250, but at twice the output speed. These two printers represent Durst at its most innovative and productive, giving users the ability to take on the latest applications their customers are asking for and to do it more efficiently. We’re very pleased to introduce them for the first time anywhere here in the U.S. at Sign Expo ’14.”

Rho 312R

The three-meter (10.5-foot) Rho 312R is equipped with Durst’s high-performance 12-picoliter Quadro™ Array print head technology – complete with the company’s Variodrop and grayscale innovations. In backlit mode it outputs extremely high image quality for backlit applications on a variety of films and textiles. Image quality effectively rivals Lambda output, according to Durst. Output speeds go as high as 2,500 s.f./hr., with quality production mode at about 1,300 s.f./hr. and backlit mode at 750 s.f./hr. The Rho 312R uses the full range of Durst inks, including Process Color Additions (orange, violet). Workflow options include an integrated border cutting system, simultaneous dual (1.6m / 5.25 ft.) roll printing, and double-sided printing.

Rho P10 250HS

The versatile, 98-inch Rho P10 250HS, like the Rho P10 250, can produce a wide variety of crisp, detailed, eye-level materials – POP and commercial displays, small packages, etc. – cost-effectively and at production speeds. Its 10-picoliter Quadro™ Array print heads give the finest color graduations, virtually perfect color reproduction and exceptionally sharp images. The Rho P10 250HS, which achieves print speeds up to 4,000 s.f./hr., can print on two parallel boards / panels simultaneously. It also can run uninterrupted for 24/7 production.
