April 24, 2014 () – For 20 years of Kyrgyzstan's independence the number of smokers has increased significantly (3-4-fold) especially among youth and women, said in the health inquiry of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

The Ministry has developed a draft decree approving the list of pictorial health warnings on the packages of cigarettes and tobacco products.

In average, 10,000 of 12,000 people's deaths are related to tobacco consumption. This number has a tendency to increase in the future if the tobacco consumption will continue to grow, reads the inquiry.
