LOS ANGELES , April 23, 2014 () – The 2014 World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE 2014) on August 10-14 in Quebec City, is to focus on the Renaissance of Timber Construction as its main theme, according to the organizers.

The theme of the biennial timber engineering, engineered wood products and timber structure design event reflects the recent trend of rediscovering timber construction. It will also explore how the industry is learning from the past and striving to reach new levels of achievement through modern wood-based products and systems, design tools and technology.

The conference aims to gather and disseminate the latest information on innovative timber construction, demonstrate how wood can be used to achieve better design and motivate engineering and architecture students and junior professionals.

The conference will also co-host the 68th Forest Products Society International Convention, which provides a forum for discussing forest products research and innovation.
