LONDON , April 18, 2014 () – The big difference between spot and contract price (CP) values on the European ethylene market may not have an effect on olefins contract price settlements processes. The spot market holds a small proportion in European ethylene market and therefore was generally less important. Also olefins contracts were processed properly. Ethylene contract price was set at EUR 1165/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) for Apr 2014, down by EUR 15/tonne from Mar 2014. Recent spot procurements on the pipeline were below EUR 900/tonne FD.
