LLC Bacardi Rus, the Russian subsidiary of Bacardi and official importer of Martini vermouths and sparkling wines, will begin shipping the Martini Piemonte dry wine to Russia in September of this year, the company said in a press release.
Supplies include six types of wines in the upper, middle and "550 rubles and above per bottle" categories.
The company's press service quoted LLC Bacardi Rus Director Vitalius Paulus as saying that research shows rapid growth in the share of wine in the overall structure of Russia's alcoholic beverage consumption.
Russia's dry wine market totaled more than 650 million liters in 2013, or around 25% of the country's overall alcohol market excluding beer, according to the 2013 IWSR Report.
The Martini brand is part of the Bermuda-based Bacardi Ltd's portfolio.
LLC Bacardi Rus sells Bacardi brands such as Bacardi, Martini, Martini SPW, Grey Goose, Laurent-Perrier and others in Russia.
According to the SPARK-Interfax database, the company boosted revenue to 18.4 billion rubles in 2012 from 15.1 billion rubles in 2011, while net profit grew 90% to 89.2 million rubles from 47.2 million rubles in 2011.
