Russian grain exports up 47.5% year-over-year from July 1, 2013-April 9, 2014, to 21.5 million tonnes, according to government statistics

LONDON , April 15, 2014 () – News: Russia's grain export increased 47.5% year-on-year ( y-o-y) to 21.488mn metric tonnes from July 1 2013, the beginning of the current marketing year, to April 9, reports Wall Street Journal, citing figures released by the Russian agriculture ministry. Of the total grain exported, wheat accounted for 15.926mn tonnes, 3.169mn tonnes of corn, 2.134mn tonnes of barley and 259,000 tonnes of other minor grains. The grain exported between April 1 and 9 amounted to 641,000 tonnes, including 549,000 tonnes of wheat, 63,000 tonnes of corn, 22,000 tonnes of barley and 7,000 tonnes of other minor grains.
