China's pesticide industry realized 40.84 billion yuan of operating revenues in February, an increase of 16.9 percent year on year, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The industry's profits rose 29.8 percent year on year to 2.39 billion yuan in the month.
In a breakdown, chemical pesticide sector recorded 37.23 billion yuan of operating revenues and 2.18 billion yuan of profits. Its profits rose 30.3 percent year on year.
Bio-pesticide sector registered 3.6 billion yuan of operating revenues and witnessed its profits up 25 percent year on year to 210 million yuan.
As of April 14, two domestically listed pesticide companies had guided their performance for the first quarter of this year. Hubei Sanoda (000553.SZ) expected 128-130 million yuan of profits in the quarter, surging 240-270 percent year on year; and Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical and Chemicals (600389.SH) forecasted its net profits to reach about 96 million yuan in the first quarter, an increase of 84 percent year on year.
