LOS ANGELES , April 15, 2014 () – Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended April 11 were as follows versus the week ended April 4, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported April 14.

Average weekly coal commodity spot prices, in dollars per short ton:

Central Appalachia (CAPP) 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$60.58, up 72 cents from week ended April 4
Northern Appalachia (NAPP) 13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$68.97, up 82 cents from week ended April 4
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$47.52, up 56 cents from week ended April 4
Powder River Basin (PRB) 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$13.02, up 17 cents from week ended April 4
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US$36.73, up 48 cents from week ended April 4
