Obukhiv, Ukraine-based Kyiv Cardboard and Paper's March paperboard output drops 5.6% from year ago, to 17,313 tonnes, and containerboard production falls 10.5%, to 9,603 tonnes, but paper output increases 3.4%, to 7,053 tonnes

Ukraine , April 14, 2014 () – In March, Obukhiv-based Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Plant (Kyiv region) decreased production of cardboard by 5.6% or 1,035 tons over March 2013 to 17,313 tons, Ukrainian News learned from the Ukrpapir association of enterprises of the pulp and paper industry.

In March, the plant decreased production of container board, including paper for corrugating, by 10.5% or 1,129 tons over March 2013 to 9,603 tons.

Also, in March the plant increased paper production by 3.4% or 231 tons over March 2013 to 7,053 tons.

The production of toilet paper rose by 20.6% or 6.767 million rolls to 39.593 million rolls, production of box board rose by 1.23% or 94 tons against to 7,710 tons.

The enterprise decreased production of boxes by 15.5% or 2.976 million square meters to 16.24 million square meters in March, production of commodity corrugated cardboard was reduced by 19% or 0.806 million square meters to 3.445 million square meters.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in February, the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Plant decreased production of cardboard by 6.35% or 1,047 tons over February 2013 to 15,437 tons.

In 2013, the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Plant decreased production of cardboard by 0.3% or 534 tons over 2012 to 211,519 tons.

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Plant is the largest processor of old paper stock among former Soviet republics with a processing capacity of about 280,000 tons of old paper stock per year.

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Plant, which is a public joint-stock enterprise, consists of facilities for production of cardboard, paper, corrugated paper, and printing facilities.

95.15% of the shares in the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Plant belong to Pulp Mill Holding GmbH (Vienna, Austria).
