Switzerland based Philip Morris Products SA filed patent application for inhibition of sensory irritation during consumption of non smokeable tobacco products. The inventors are Kobal Gerd, Reeh Peter, Heynekamp Justin, Mishra Munmaya K, Langston Timothy B and Flora Jason W.
Philip Morris Products SA filed the patent application on Sept. 20, 2012. The patent application number is 8225/DELNP/2012 A. The international classification numbers are A24B13/00, A24B15/30 and A24B15/28.
According to the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, "An orally enjoyable tobacco product (10 100) includes a portion of smokeless tobacco comprising an active ingredient. The active ingredient is selected from the group consisting of a mercaptan camphor borneol isobomeol bornyl acetate isobornyl acetate mono bornyl succinate mono isobornyl succinate mono bornyl formate and mono isobornyl formate. The active ingredient is present in an amount effective to reduce or eliminate the sensory irritation arising from the smokeless tobacco. Also disclosed is a method of making such a product."
