A truck driver has been killed in an apparent accident involving a forklift truck at RSG Forest Products, Inc.'s Molalla Division in Oregon, according to a report by The Oregonian.
The driver, who was employed by Vernonia-based Blue Pacific Logistics Inc., arrived at the lumber mill at around 1.30 p.m. on March 20 to receive a shipment, officials at the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.
An RSG employee was loading lumber onto two flatbed semi-trailers using a forklift when the truck driver left his cab and began to secure the load. The RSG employee then backed up the forklift and ran over the driver, officials said.
Employees called 911 and a deputy medical examiner from Clackamas County responded, as well as investigators from the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
An investigation into the incident is being led by the Medical Examiner's Office, and the names of those involved have not been released.
