LOS ANGELES , March 17, 2014 (press release) – Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended March 14 were as follows versus the week ended March 7, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported March 17.

Average weekly coal commodity spot prices, in dollars per short ton:

Central Appalachia (CAPP) 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$60.06, unchanged from week ended March 7
Northern Appalachia (NAPP) 13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$68.65, unchanged from week ended March 7
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$46.65, unchanged from week ended March 7
Powder River Basin (PRB) 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$12.50, unchanged from week ended March 7
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US$36.00, unchanged from week ended March 7
