NEW YORK , March 13, 2014 (press release) – William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, announced today that its popular culture imprint, It Books, is being rebranded as Dey Street Books. The name, inspired by HarperCollins' relocation to downtown Manhattan this spring, will debut with titles publishing in Fall 2014, a list that includes books from Alan Cumming, Gene Simmons, Neil Strauss, and Amy Poehler.

Founded in 2009, It Books has published an impressive array of New York Times bestselling authors including Justin Halpern, Regis Philbin, Steven Adler, Susan Lucci and many more. Upcoming titles include Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton, President Me from Adam Carolla, 10% Happier from Dan Harris, Dirty Daddy from Bob Saget, and Love Sex Again by Dr. Lauren Streicher. All books published under the It Books imprimatur will eventually transition to become Dey Street Books titles.

It was in the very same building that will become HarperCollins' new home at Broadway and Dey Street--that the first transcontinental telephone call was made over a century ago. In that spirit of connectivity, Dey Street Books is dedicated to linking authors and their readers through innovative marketing and publicity platforms, while cultivating a strong and successful list of nonfiction projects that cover all categories—from memoir and music, to narrative nonfiction, self-help, and beyond. We intend to build on our already extraordinary list by increasing the breadth of our books and our readership.

Dey Street Books will be directed by Lynn Grady, Senior Vice President and Publisher. "While It Books has developed a terrific track record with publishing national bestsellers in the pop culture space, our goal with Dey Street Books is to broaden our program without losing our core area of focus. Our list will be defined by books from authors who provoke, inspire, educate, or entertain. With our experienced and engaged editorial staff, and our top notch marketing and publicity team, we will strive to bring the best books by the best authors to the broadest possible audience," says Grady.

"I have high hopes for Dey Street Books and the team Lynn has put together," said Michael Morrison, President and Publisher of HarperCollins. "By broadening the publishing program, I'm convinced they will reach more readers while maintaining their focus on each individual book."
