LOS ANGELES , March 10, 2014 () – Panera Bread Co. will be introducing a sprouted-grain bagel made with rye, spelt and oat groats to its U.S. cafes in May following a successful test, Bloomberg LP reported March 9.

The announcement comes as Panera's same-store sales growth slowed to 1.1% in its most recent quarter, compared to 1.3% and 3.7% in the previous two quarters.
