BEIJING , February 14, 2014 () – China's cost price of refined sugar made of imported raw sugar averaged at 3,769 yuan/tonne in January, 1,099 yuan/tonne lower than the sugar prices in South China's Guangdong Province, a major sugar marketing region in the country, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

The price disparity between imported and homegrown sugar narrowed 119 yuan/tonne from the previous month.
