Russia's PET output in 2013 declined 10% year-over-year to 408,000 tonnes due to downtime periods from accidents, slated repairs, according to report
MOSCOW , February 11, 2014 (RCCnews (CBNB Abstracts)) – According to Market Report, Russia's polyethylene terephthalate (PET) output in 2013 declined 10% year-on-year to 408,000 tonnes. The drop was highly affected by downtime periods due to accidents and slated repairs. However, Russia's PET output in Dec 2013 reached 30,700 tonnes, 30% higher than that in Nov 2013. This increase was due to the growth in Polief's and Sibur-PET's market demand as well as PET plants at Alko-Naphtha, Kaliningrad, and the Senezh plant in Solnechnogorsk resuming their operations after repairs.
