February 10, 2014 () – America’s appetite for pizza keeps growing, with 1 in 8 now consuming pizza on any given day, according to a new report from USDA.

Consumption rates are higher for children and teens, particularly among males. A quarter of males aged 6-19 eat pizza on any given day, compared to 1 in 5 females for the same age category.

Among children, pizza consumption did not vary by race/ethnicity, but white adults are more likely to eat pizza than black or Hispanic adults.

Children’s pizza eating occasions occurred both at lunch and dinner about 40% of the time while adults ate pizza at dinner 59% of the time.

About 60% of pizza consumption took place at home.
