LOS ANGELES , January 30, 2014 () – Wismar, Germany-based wood pellet manufacturer German Pellets GmbH has acquired Austrian pellet provider Heizwert GmbH, SeeNews Renewables reported on Jan. 13.

Heizwert, based in Waldneukirchen, Austria, is a distributor for various brands of wood pellets, selling up to 35,000 tonnes per year.

The sale to German Pellets includes Heizwert’s woodchip facilities, storage facilities, and vehicles. The companies did not disclose financial details on the Jan. 1 sale.

Heizwert is expected to continue operating as an independent business within German Pellets, and its management will stay with the company, according to SeeNews Renewables.
