Heineken reportedly makes offer to acquire additional 5% in India's United Breweries, which would increase its total stake to 44%

NETHERLANDS , January 30, 2014 () – Dutch brewer Heineken (AMS:HEIA) is understood to have made an offer to acquire an additional 5% in Indian United Breweries (BOM:532478), business news channel CNBC said Wednesday, quoting unnamed sources.

Heinken currently owns 39% in United Breweries. People familiar with the matter earlier told CNBC Heineken was not willing to use the open market to raise its stake.

United Breweries is maker of Kingfisher beer and Heineken beer in India.
