ROTTWEIL, Germany , January 28, 2014 (press release) – BDT Media Automation will be presenting at the 23rd Annual IMI Inkjet Printing Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada (Feb. 5-7, 2014). In addition to providing a technical seminar on the challenges of print media handling in the age of digital industrial and commercial printers, BDT will also be revealing a revamped product line including the revolutionary Tornado integration modules, the TPF-750 Pile Feeder, and the most compact UV-LED industrial inkjet marking system with integrated media management capabilities in the marketplace. “Media management has become very complex in the digital age, with vendors and print service providers looking to accommodate an ever increasing range of media types on print engines, without comprising print quality or productivity” said Ralf Hipp, Vice President Print Media. “BDT is committed to working with our partners to conquer the challenges of digital print media management by applying our extensive technology portfolio and design capabilities to their specific print system requirements.”

BDT Seminar: Charting a New Direction in Print Media Handling:

The BDT seminar, to be presented at the IMI Inkjet Printing Conference (at the Rivera Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas), will provide a comparative overview of current media management technologies and chart new directions for digital printer manufacturers and post press equipment providers to consider. The seminar, entitled “Digital Media Handling on Demand: An Enabler for Print on Demand”, will take place Thursdaymorning, February 6 in the “Technology Advancements” conference track. John Kuta, Director of Sales and Marketing North America, Print Media Handling, and Peter Kearney, Project Manager Innovation, will present for BDT.

New and Streamlined Products Revealed:

BDT will be revealing a streamlined product offering for the revolutionary Tornado integration modules at the vendor exhibit. “The simplified product line, based on market feedback from print and packaging integrators, will include both analog and digital versions of the popular Tornado Drive Modules, and an analog model of the Tornado SideBlower Module. When paired with the extensive application knowledge of the BDT development team, the new product line will enable rapid integration into new or existing print media management systems,” explained Kearney.

Two brand new BDT Media Automation products will also be revealed at the conference. The TPF-750 Pile Feeder for high speed press and post press applications enables reliable feed of the largest media range of any feeder currently available. Developed in response to customer demand, TPF-750 virtually eliminates the possibility of double feeds and readily manages textured or irregular surfaces such as spot varnished media up to B1 formats. In addition, the industrial inkjet labeling systems will be presented. The industrial inkjet labeling systems provides UV-LED curing in a compact footprint for terminal block, conductor and device industrial marking applications.
