January 24, 2014 () – Carlsberg Breweries A/S has announced that it will open a new brewery in the Hammarby Sjostad area of Stockholm, in the spring of 2014.

The New Carnegie Brewery is a joint venture between Carlsberg Sweden and Brooklyn Brewery from the US.

"The New Carnegie Brewery will not only be a brewery and beer temple that combines innovations, tradition and quality, but it will also be a beer school and restaurant," says plant manager, Fredrik Vogel.

The brewery is expected to open its doors to the public in the spring of 2014, and it is expected that up to 40,000 people will visit every year.

"Everything is going according to plan, although there have, of course, been some unexpected challenges. We are committed to making sure this new facility brews the very best beer," says plant manager Fredrik Vogel.

New Carnegie Brewery will brew approximately 3000 HL of beer in the first year, but will have the capacity to brew over one million litres of beer per year.
