China's production declines for pulp, paper and paperboard in November, first time all three sectors are down, while year-to-date output was off year-over-year by 1.5% for pulp, 0.3% for paper and paperboard, according to preliminary data

BEIJING , January 17, 2014 () – According to preliminary data, in Nov 2013, Chinese pulp, paper & paperboard and paper product sectors all recorded negative growth. Notably for paper product sector, it posted 5.2% of decline in output year on year. It was for the first time for the three sectors to simultaneously record negative growth.

Jan- Nov 2013, China produced a total of 15.303 million mts of pulp, dipping 1.5% year on year. Nov 2011, China produced 1.366 million mts of pulp, tumbling 4.5% year on year.

Jan- Nov 2013 China produced 106.643 million mts of paper and paperboard, dipping 0.3% year on year and tumbling 0.5% from the growth rate of 0.2% in Jan- Oct 2013. In Nov 2013, production of paper & paperboard was 10.036 million mts, dipping 0.4% year on year.

In Nov 2013, 4.989 million mts of paper products were produced, dipping 5.2% year on year. However, Jan- Nov 2013 paper product sector in the country produced 48.268 million mts of paper products, up 9.4% year on year.
