Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended Dec. 20 were as follows versus the week ended Dec. 13, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported Dec. 23.
Average weekly coal commodity spot prices, in dollars per short ton:
Central Appalachia (CAPP) 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$63.58, unchanged from week ended Dec. 13
Northern Appalachia (NAPP) 13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$68.00, unchanged from week ended Dec. 13
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$46.15, unchanged from week ended Dec. 13
Powder River Basin (PRB) 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$11.50, unchanged from week ended Dec. 13
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US$35.95, unchanged from week ended Dec. 13
