P&G Indonesia has inaugurated a new plant in Jakarta, a move that represents a multi-year investment to build “world-class facilities” that manufacture multiple categories of products, according to the company.
While the plant will primarily produce Pampers diapers for the local market, it will serve as the source of exports needed to balance supply and demand in the region, and be a regional hub for raw materials supplies, P&G noted.
Dimitri Panayotopoulos, vice chairman and advisor to chairman and CEO A.G. Lafley, joined top P&G leaders in Indonesia and other local distinguished guests from the Indonesian government to open the new plant in a traditional Indonesian ceremony.
As one of the largest plants in the region, the Jakarta plant has also earned Silver LEED certification.
