Egg production in Azerbaijan should rise 26% to 1.2 billion units annually by 2015, according to government spokesman

December 2, 2013 () – The spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture Chingiz Farajov has announced that as per State Program on Food Security, egg production in the poultry factories in Azerbaijan should be grown by 26% or 252 mln to 1.2 bln units yearly by 2015.

According to him, Azerbaijan creates 1.2 bln units of eggs in all categories: This figure should be reached 1.5 bln by 2015 .

One of the key targets is to create all breeder eggs in the country, noted Farajov.

Poultry plants require 100 mln breeder eggs annually. But, the factories create 60 mln breeder eggs, 40 mln of eggs are imported.
