The Dallas Morning News has reached a deal with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram to print the Fort Worth paper at its suburban Dallas printing plant.
No terms were announced, but Star-Telegram Publisher Gary Wortel says the long-term agreement will eliminate more than 75 full-time and 200 part-time jobs at the Star-Telegram printing plant on the southern edge of Fort Worth. The Morning News already prints regional editions of USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times at its Plano plant. The Star-Telegram is owned by the Sacramento, Calif.-based McClatchy Co., which owns 30 daily newspapers nationwide. The Morning News is owned by the Dallas-based A.H. Belo Corp., which also owns The Providence Journal in Rhode Island and the Denton Record-Chronicle in Texas.
