MIAMI , October 29, 2013 (press release) – Ann Dozier Appointed to New Vice President, Information Technology Role within Southern’s Business Solutions Group

Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern), the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor, today announced that Ann Dozier has accepted the newly-created position of Vice President, Information Technology. This corporate role will further enhance the strategic importance and overall industry-leading technology capabilities across the Southern enterprise. Dozier will report to Barry Goldberg, Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer & Managing Director of Southern’s Business Solutions Group (BSG).

Commenting on the appointment, Goldberg said, “Ann has a diverse career in the consumer product goods (CPG) industry where she has had a mix of technology, sales, supply chain and customer-facing applications — with a focus on beverage distribution. Ann possesses strong technical skills and is a demonstrated leader first and foremost — with excellent communication skills and business acumen. Ann will be a wonderful addition to an already strong BSG team that day-in-and-day-out delivers and supports technology solutions to enable our industry-leading Sales and Marketing teams.”

Dozier has 24 years of experience in various leadership roles within the CPG industry. Most recently, she was Vice President of Information Technology for Dean Foods where she was responsible for the strategy, design, development and implementation of all IT capabilities to support their Fresh Dairy Direct business. Prior to that, Dozier worked for The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc. where she was responsible for the development of commercial and go-to-market strategies that promoted improved collaboration with retail and foodservice customers.

Highlighting a few of Dozier’s accomplishments in the beverage industry, Goldberg added, “Ann has focused on thought leadership and hands-on IT support to enabled local divisions to improve operations and better connect with their customers. She also worked on the development and implementation of eBusiness solutions for large customer accounts. From these achievements and her broad experience base, we see many opportunities to leverage Ann’s know-how across the Southern enterprise.”

The appointment is effective immediately.
