HAYWARD, California , October 23, 2013 (press release) – U.S. Manufacturer Launches New Website, Brand Identity; Hires Leadership for New Facility

For more than 110 years as a family-owned operation, Norton Packaging, Inc. has demonstrated constant improvement and unsurpassed customer satisfaction. With a renewed commitment to innovation and excellence, Norton launched a new website and brand identity that reflect its growth from a regional level to a company with national reach and capacity, all the while maintaining small-company customer service values. These developments coincide with the construction of a new manufacturing facility.

Norton is investing in evolving its services and expanding its product offerings in ways that offer customers a real choice in the market. As the company grows, it remains deeply committed to providing a knowledgeable, accessible team that ushers customers seamlessly from design to manufacturing to distribution with superior efficiency and reliability.

Precision Performance in Packaging is Norton’s new brand promise and is a key element of the company’s new logo. It means more than producing the industry’s most inventive and dependable containers. It means being highly engaged, taking the time to listen and learn in order to craft customized solutions that help customers build both their business and their reputation. For nearly 75 years, Norton has set the standard for quality and technological innovation in the shipping containers industry—from rigid plastic pails to paint cans to custom packages—combined with outstanding customer and environmental stewardship. These fundamental values remain unchanged.

At the new website (www.nortonpackaging.com), visitors will find a crisp, clean design that signifies the modern company Norton is today and that delivers concise, valuable information about products and services, industry expertise, company history and leadership, and more. Professionals in the paints and coatings, food products, chemicals and cleansers, and lubricants sectors, will find pages devoted specifically to each market with details on the technology Norton employs to deliver the ultimate in both durability and affordability.

Construction is well underway on Norton’s new state-of-the-art, 76,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Monticello, Georgia (about 60 miles southeast of Atlanta; 40 miles north of Macon). The plant, scheduled to open in February 2014, will feature the latest technology. These include energy-efficient, all-electric machinery instead of traditional power-hungry hydraulic equipment, making it one of the industry’s most eco-friendly facilities. The plant will also use sustainable and source-reduced raw materials, continuing Norton’s tradition of environmental stewardship.

“This location in Georgia’s heartland is an outgrowth of our strategy to extend existing customer relationships while also expanding our customer base in fast-growing markets,” said Scott Norton, Co-President of Norton Packaging. “It gives us a chance to strengthen our customer and supplier relationships in the Southeastern United States and Europe while bringing economic growth and opportunity to the Monticello community.”

Norton has hired two industry veterans to lead the new plant. Plant Manager Jim Skinner has lived in Jasper County for 27 years (Monticello is the county seat) and has over 20 years’ experience in the plastics industry. Regional Sales Manager Scott Taylor is a 20-year Atlanta resident with more than 25 years in the container business. This fall, Skinner and Taylor are hiring staff for the facility, which will bring 90 new jobs to the community.
