Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended Oct. 18 were as follows versus the week ended Oct. 11, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported Oct. 21.
Average weekly coal commodity spot prices, in dollars per short ton:
Central Appalachia (CAPP) 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$64.58, unchanged from week ended Oct. 11
Northern Appalachia (NAPP) 13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$68.50, unchanged from week ended Oct. 11
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$46.15, unchanged from week ended Oct. 11
Powder River Basin (PRB) 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$10.57, unchanged from week ended Oct. 11
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US$35.95, unchanged from week ended Oct. 11
