NEW YORK , October 17, 2013 (press release) – Dwell Announces Permanent Relocation of Creative Team and New Senior Editor.

Two years after setting up an editorial outpost in New York City, Dwell is planning the permanent relocation of its creative team, moving to new and bigger New York offices, and expanding its ranks with the addition of William Lamb as Senior Editor – all part of a strategic shift East for the California-based media company.

Located at 192 Lexington Avenue, the new offices will be double Dwell’s current capacity at 8 West 36th Street in order to accommodate the full creative team as well as ad sales and administrative staff. The move happens in early November and the full creative team will be in place by the beginning of 2014.

The addition of Lamb to Dwell’s editorial team rounds out a two-year migration of editorial positions from West to East for the modern design brand. Its West coast offices remain the headquarters of the company as well as the home of its newly established e-commerce division.

“Dwell has always been a bicoastal media company,” says President Michela O’Connor Abrams, “and as we continue to grow, we see an immense upside in having our creative team working together in New York. This has been a natural progression and we’re thrilled.”

A longtime contributor to Dwell, Lamb was previously at New Jersey’s The Record, where he directed coverage of breaking news and helped coordinate reports on state politics and government. He has also served on staff at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The Philadelphia Inquirer, and has contributed to CNN.com. He joins Editor-in-Chief Amanda Dameron, who left the San Francisco office for New York in September 2011, Senior Editor Kelsey Keith, and Associate Editor Diana Budds, who relocated from San Francisco earlier this year. West Coast Editor Erika Heet will remain in Los Angeles, covering the region and managing the content for Dwell’s annual Dwell on Design event held in Los Angeles in June.
