ATLANTA , October 9, 2013 (press release) – UPS(R) (NYSE: UPS) announced the launch of UPS Standard to Mexico, a general service offering that provides customers with a guaranteed economical option for ground package delivery south of the U.S. border. UPS is the only logistics provider in the U.S. to offer to its customers guaranteed, door-to-door, small package ground service to Mexico. This service is also now available from more than 4,300 The UPS Store locations across the United States or by scheduling a pickup through UPS.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, trade between the U.S. and Mexico has increased 113% over the past ten years, with more than $1.35 billion in cross-border commerce taking place every day.

"Mexico is an extremely important market for UPS and our customers," said Romaine Seguin, president of UPS Americas Region. "Mexico was the United States' second largest export market in 2012, and is its largest importer of U.S. computer and electronic parts. By leveraging UPS logistics expertise, we can help our customers maximize the potential this market has to offer."

By leveraging its extensive network in North America and customs brokerage expertise, UPS provides a seamless delivery experience from pickup to delivery in addition to end-to-end shipment visibility. UPS Standard to Mexico offers:

-- Door to door delivery in 4--8 business days

-- Money-back guarantee for on-time delivery

-- Routine customs clearance at no additional charge

-- End-to-end visibility and pro-active notifications

Customers typically located in the southwestern border states have benefitted from competing in the Mexican market. However, with UPS's Standard service, businesses from coast to coast can easily take full advantage of the Mexican demand for U.S. goods. This economical delivery option for less urgent shipments is ideal for reliable delivery of everything from industrial and automotive equipment to consumer goods.

"In the 2012 'Change in the Chain' survey conducted by UPS with U.S. high-tech companies, respondents overwhelmingly stated that their future growth depends on 'emerging market demand and the ability to navigate the complexities of import and export efficiently and effectively,'" said John Miltenis, UPS vice president of international marketing. "UPS recognizes that in order for our customers to meet Mexican demand for U.S. goods, they require a partner that can provide international expertise, reliability and end-to-end visibility. UPS Standard to Mexico does just that -- while increasing supply chain and cost efficiencies."
