Ukraine has harvested 6 million tons of sunflowers thus far in 2013, government says; sunflowers harvested from 3.1 million hectares at yield of 19.5 cwt./hectare

As at October 7, agricultural enterprises harvested 5.964 million tons of sunflowers, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food Supplies has said.
Sunflowers were harvested from 3.061 million hectares (62% of the plan) at the yield of 19.5 centners per hectare.
Agricultural enterprises also harvested 984,000 tons of soybeans from 492,000 hectares (36%) at the yield of 20 centners per hectare.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, agricultural enterprises harvested 4.089 million hectares of sunflowers as at last week.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food Supplies expects 13 million tons of oil-bearing crops in 2013.
The Ukroliyaprom association expects the harvest of sunflowers at the level of 9 million tons.
