ADM OFFICIAL: COMPANY STILL LOOKING AT OPTIONS FOR HEADQUARTERS, WON'T SAY IF ILLINOIS ON LIST
A spokeswoman for Archer Daniels Midland Company says the agribusiness giant is still considering a variety of locations for its global headquarters, but declined to say if any Illinois sites still are on the list.
ADM announced last week it plans to move its global headquarters out of Decatur. The company asked Illinois legislators for up to $24 million in tax breaks to keep the headquarters in Illinois.
On Thursday, Gov. Pat Quinn said he would veto any incentive package until lawmakers approve a fix for Illinois' massive pension problem. He also said ADM's time would be better spent lobbying for pension reform.
Victoria Podesta is chief communication officer for ADM. She says the company is looking at options and intends "to have those discussions directly with those officials."
