Widest pack size range available for wrappers in its class
Bosch Packaging Technology, a leading supplier of complete solutions in processing and packaging technology, is introducing the Pack 101 horizontal flow wrapper, an entry-level solution that currently offers the widest size range available for a flow wrapper of its class. The Pack 101, which is being launched at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013, comes with an all-servo motor design that enables quick and easy setup and changeovers. It also maximizes product and film usage during production, while offering low maintenance costs.
The Pack 101's fully adjustable former and multiple cutting head sizes permit a wide range of products to be packaged on a single machine, reducing the need for future investment and giving manufacturers the agility to quickly adapt to changing market demands. Designed for the packaging of confectionery, bakery, snacks, medical devices and applications, prepared foods, hardware, consumer goods, and many other foods and non-foods, the machine is ideal for businesses needing a flexible solution that accommodates multiple products. Replacing the Doboy Stratus, the Pack 101's compact frame enables integration within most production environments. "The Pack 101 is designed for small to mid-sized companies looking to maximize their return on investment in packaging equipment," says Craig Collett, director of HFFS and secondary systems, Bosch Packaging Technology, Inc. "It equips them with state-of-the-art technology and with the flexibility to rapidly adapt to changes in the marketplace."
Advanced technology for high production efficiency
Outfitted with all-electronic control of motors and drives, the Pack 101 is designed for automated and quick changeovers, increasing operational efficiency. The unit shares production-proven technology applied on Bosch's higher-end horizontal flow wrappers for reliable and continuous operation. The human machine interface (HMI) provides an easy-to-use color touch screen and intuitive icon-driven navigation that simplifies set-up, operations and diagnostics. Special monitoring software detects errors and stops the cutting head, reducing the potential for machine jams and unnecessary downtime.
In addition, the Pack 101 is designed for easy cleaning and maintenance. Pushers are easily exchangeable, and the cutting head can be cleaned without the need for re-synchronizing. Modules such as the fin wheel section, discharge and infeed parts can be easily removed for speedy cleaning or maintenance. Crimpers, fixed formers, pushers and other sections share parts with Bosch's other Pack series wrappers, reducing spare parts inventory and lowering the total cost of ownership for customers who scale up with Bosch's Pack Series of horizontal flow wrappers.
The Pack 101 will be on display at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013, in Central Hall, booth C-1900 from September 23 to 25.
