Engineers and purchasing professionals who specify film-based differential release liners now have access to a new source of supply. Mondi Americas announced at Pack Expo 2013 that it has brought assets on line that efficiently and accurately manufacture differential release liners with polyester, high- and low-density polyethylene, and virtually any other type of film substrate.
At Pack Expo, Mondi Americas occupies Booth 6501.
Differential release liners consist of a substrate with a different release coating on each side.
Film-based release liners find use in pressure-sensitive tape applications for automotive, graphic arts, medical and other components that require a smooth film surface.
The new film-based differential release liners complement Mondi Americas’ existing paper-based differential release liners. Mondi Americas is a preferred supplier of differential release liners produced with clay coat, polycoated, densified and calendared papers, and latex saturated substrates.
Mondi Americas has formulated release liner chemistries to accommodate a host of different pressure- sensitive adhesives used in a broad range of industries. Uses also include fiber composite applications, where composite producers lay down and impregnate resins with carbon fibers. The composites replace metals in a variety of industries, including aerospace and automotive.
Mondi Americas designs, develops and manufactures solutions in three core competencies: industrial bags, consumer packaging and release liners: Industrial bags include ultra-strong paper bags for high-speed filling, air-permeable bags featuring hermetic and vacuum sealing, and additional bag designs that fill the toughest requirements. For food and animal feed applications Mondi Industrial Bags offers the hygiene certification scheme AIB. Consumer packaging solutions include stand-up pouches, reclosable bags, microwaveable packaging and other products with optimal barrier properties, along with extruded films for labels. Release liners encompass silicone-coated and specialty paper and film release liners for a host of pressure-sensitive adhesive applications.
Mondi is in touch every day with solutions that meet the needs of packaging and paper users worldwide.
