Twin Rivers Paper Co. has announced a US$3/cwt price increase on all its publishing, label, packaging and specialty paper grades, effective on or after Nov. 1.
Customers were notified of the hike in a Sept. 20 letter signed by Jason Courter, director of sales. No explanation was given for the increase.
Last week, Domtar Corp. came out with the first hike on fine paper in more than two years, telling customers it will raise its uncoated freesheet prices by US$3/cwt hike as of Oct. 15.
Twin Rivers operates a 383,000 tonnes/year mill in Madawaska, Maine. Production includes coated and uncoated freesheet, hybrid and uncoated groundwood papers used mostly for lightweight specialty publishing, packaging, label and coverting papers, according to the company's website.
