CAMP HILL, Pennsylvania , September 9, 2013 (press release) – Independent, Licensed Insurance Agents Available in Nearly 2,000 Rite Aid Pharmacies to Counsel Customers

Rite Aid Corporation (RAD) announced today a set of comprehensive resources to help customers better understand the Affordable Care Act and to provide them with information they can use to help them make the best health insurance choices for themselves and their families.

Beginning Oct. 1, in conjunction with the start of enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace, independent, licensed insurance agents will be onsite in nearly 2,000 of the more than 4,600 Rite Aid pharmacies across the country* for free consultations with customers.

Agents will be available to meet one-on-one with customers to answer questions on the Affordable Care Act and to help them compare healthcare plans based on individual needs. Customers will also be able to enroll in a plan if they choose. All Rite Aid stores will have brochures with information on the Affordable Care Act. Information will also be offered on www.riteaid.com/affordablecare.

“As a trusted community health care provider, our customers look to us for help in making healthcare decisions for themselves and their families,” said Rite Aid Chairman and CEO John Standley. “With the implementation of the Health Insurance Marketplace, our customers will now have many new choices to make in the coming enrollment period. We know they will look to Rite Aid for information and guidance, and that’s why we’re providing free resources in store and online, to help them better understand the new requirements and options available to them under the law.”

The independent, licensed agents available in Rite Aid stores have received specific training to facilitate the free Affordable Care Act counseling sessions. The agents will also be able to advise customers on Medicaid eligibility in applicable states. Appointments are not necessary for these brief, initial consultations. Customers will be able to find the closest agent and hours at any Rite Aid pharmacy, by calling 1-855-880-8777 or online at www.riteaid.com/affordablecare.

Rite Aid Corporation is one of the nation's leading drugstore chains with more than 4,600 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia and fiscal 2013 annual revenues of $25.4 billion. Information about Rite Aid, including corporate background and press releases, is available through the company's website at www.riteaid.com.

*Agents not available where prohibited by State government Marketplace restrictions, including MA, RI & VT. Agents will be available 12 hours per week.
